Default Value of fan photos?

I have a few pics like this in my collection (this one is not mine) I always thought they were cool to have but do photos taken by fans from the stands have any value?

Hi Jim,
Yes, they certainly can have value depending on the individual player, the era and the clarity of the shot.

I hope this helps.

I am wondering the same thing. I picked up a huge collection from a long time photographer. Many of them are signed. Here are some examples.

They certainly can have value. But typically snapshots and the like are not particularly coveted in that the quality is usually poor and there's no great historical importance of "hey there's so and so standing on the field doing nothing."

Default Snapshot photos

I agree with what others have stated; they certainly can have value. I know I'm interested in most Brooks Robinson snapshot photos. I'm sure the ones pictured would be valued by collectors of that particular team or player.

Default Blyleven rookie.......

The rookie Bert Blyleven "Aug 70" snapshot is cool. His ML debut was only two months earlier in June 1970 at age 19.............

I agree with Dan, that's an incredible collection.
Personally, I collect snapshots of no-hit pitchers.
Gary Scamehorn on net54 is the king of snapshots. I'm surprised that he hasn't weighed in yet, but I'm sure he will...

Snapshots most certainly have a value. It's been growing over the years IMO. Very underrated as well.

The pricing of snapshots are really tough. There's no price guide. They are unique 1/1 ( most of the time) collectables. So even if you look at similar comps...it gets tough for pricing. From my experience. As you start getting into the late 70's - 80's, 90's + the value does (IMO) tail off a lot . Mainly because, they are in color and they lose that baseball "Golden Era" nostalgia feeling... which people love. If the snapshots are sign it does of course, increase the value pending the player and the photo.

In that collection there's some good value. Very nice pick up!

There are Twins collectors who would love those. Heck, I love them and could care less about the Twins!

Their careers are long over. Many are gone. But these moments are captured in time and preserved. Outstanding. Thanks for sharing these.
