Who really cares about a post count? Maybe if post counts were hidden we wouldn't have nearly identical topics being posted at the same time. How about how many threads are posted over and over.

After working in IT for 20 years, I took my first job at a hospital.

I'm going to be a cardiologist.

They have a 9 week program.

I hear it's easy.

Probably is.

There once was a girl from Wheeling
Who got a very strange feeling
So she laid on her back
And tickled her....

Oops, wrong limerick

There once was a doctor named Burkett
Who had an important post to make, but said furkett
So he challenged us all
To see who could make him fall
But we'll try and continue to wurkett!

On 54 was an MD
Whose ego was large as the sea
To himself he did call
The attention of all
But we wish he would say, Sawadee!

Surprised and a little disappointed that, while everyone seems well aware of Dr Frank's penchant for the obscure,
no one's commented on, or perhaps even noticed, not just one but two brilliantly clever allusions half hidden in
his original post.

We'll let Frank himself reveal them in his 3,000th if nobody else "gets" them first.

Not really a fan of threads w/o pictures of cards or the Chase Utley rule, but to each his own I guess.
Here's another McGraw for my back run...I should start a thread about it one day I think.

Thanks, Pete. One of the reasons I started the run was b/c I ran into a couple of difficult backs of it and decided to give it a go. I realize now that there are many different possible combinations of ad backs for this McGraw. Here's a "blank back T216" from a Goodwin auction, although I'm not sure how they know to qualify it as a T216...

Reaching the 500 and 3000 milestones would guarantee Frank a spot in the Net54 HoF if it wasn't for those pesky juicing allegations.

Default The illusion of an allusion

To belabor this nonsense further serves no purpose. The referenced post has indeed provoked me and that was the challenge. A visual illusion is deception intended to make the viewer see something that isn't there. A literary allusion can be an indirect reference, whose purpose may clarify meaning, but if undetected or if the indirect reference is unknown to the reader may lead to incomplete understanding or "obscurity".

The provocation comes from the fact that "the two brilliantly clever" allusions, that I allegedly scripted in my original post, are in fact an illusion to me. I have been credited with brilliance, but in reality am ignorant. I cannot reveal them in this post, because I haven't found them yet and may be insane as a result.

I am reminded of Joseph Heller's Catch 22. "Catch-22" refers to a regulation that states an airman's request to be relieved from flight duty can only be granted if he is judged to be insane. However, anyone who does not want to fly dangerous missions is obviously sane, thus, there is no way to avoid flying the missions.

I guess that I have been gored by my own "bull". Kudos to Butch7999 whoever you are. "So it goes.................................."

I can't marry you.
Why not?
Because you're crazy.
Why am I crazy?
Because you want to marry me.

A doctor whose penis turned green

Asked a medico what did it mean

He said "It's a curse

From bonking that nurse

Too close to the X-ray machine!"

Frank made his statement and we can all rejoice
Amid allegations of brilliance, he felt that he had no choice
The illusions and allusions, he didn't know
Hidden messages in his post were the rage, it was quite a show
The good doctor will continue after that
So on to the next post
A thousand more we look forward to
Doc you are the Most!
