Default Post your 3 favorites - postwar edition!

There is a thread like this with eye candy galore going on over on the main page for prewar. Thought I’d start one here. It may change day by day, but what are your 3 favorite postwar cards in your collection? I’ll start. These definitely fit the bill for today:

Tough to choose just three, but these 3 would have to rank towards the top for me at least for my Post War cards.

"In 1955, there were 77,263,127 male American human beings. And every one of them in his heart of hearts would have given two arms, a leg and his collection of Davy Crockett iron-ons to be Teddy Ballgame." --The Great American Baseball Card Flipping, Trading and Bubblegum Book

"What a marvelous moment for baseball; what a marvelous moment for Atlanta and the state of Georgia; what a marvelous moment for the country and the world. A black man is getting a standing ovation in the Deep South for breaking a record of an all-time baseball idol. I collect Pete Runnels & Mickey Vernon cards because they were my favorite Washington Senators players when I was a kid. Still, it's hard to pick 3 favorites, but I'll go with these. I'm counting the six color proofs of Runnels' 1952 Topps card as one item.

Is that a "blue" '58 Aaron? 30 years after a dealer told me a lie about what the variation was, I finally got my Yellow Letter earlier this year...

Yes it is blue, I believe it is the only known one with a blue background and bright yellow logo. It is actually a fairly important card in the hobby in my biases opinion.

There is a thread on here with pics of that exact card background turning from green to blue. Before I posted pics several blue cards were being sold at a premium. Now most know it is really a altered card and not a rare printing error, saving many collectors some cash.

I don't collect much outside of the 1961 Topps set I'm working on. My mom bought me the Duke Snider when I was 8. She is a Dodgers fan and when I asked for The Duke of Flatbush she couldn't say no. She also bought me the 1961 Koufax. Both were purchased about 25 years ago. Both are the first vintage cards I ever owned. I became interested in vintage right around the time Ken Burns documentary came out. So I consider these one selection. I just got the '61 Mantle this year. It's a nice card in raw condition. And finally, I purchased the 1956 Koufax at my LCD. It was too good a price to pass up.

I would like to add that 58 Kahns Clemente to my trifecta if you ever decide to sell. It is too bad that 1957 Salesman's sample doesn't have a 3rd good player on it like Bill Mazeroski instead of Billy Martin. However, that is a really nice Dick Stuart Bazooka Box. Go Bucs.

Instead of a 'like' button, this thread needs to have a 'drool' button.
