I was wondering if you guys can help me figure out where this stadium seat is from. I'm thinking it's from Forbes field.

Curious what makes you think it's from sportsmans park? I have one in my own collection that is supposed to be a sportsmans park seat but I'm not so sure.

Almost positive it's from Forbes Field BUT I have seen many stadium seats that are very similar. I have 4 seats from Forbes Field and all look just like that. A couple more photos may help though.

This same style of seat was used in many stadiums, including Crosley Field, Cincinnati. The structure is identical to one I have (from Crosley) but the arm-rests would have been painted red or green. I think it will be difficult to pinpoint where this one is from, since it appears to have had much of the paint removed.

Perhaps someone here knows. I don't recall seeing the black paint before... it could possibly be from a Minor League stadium. Hope you find your answer!

Edit... Brendan replied while I was typing. Forbes is a good speculation... I can't tell from photo if the arms are painted black, or just bare metal that's been stripped of the paint. Can you clarify?

Thanks guys, I hope I can find my answer. I purchased it at a flea market off an older gentlemen and he said he got it off an older women. She told him it was from the Polo Grounds but that's definitely not the case. I'm thinking about restoring it to look like the Forbes Field seat.

The paint is actually like a brownish color.

On the inside where the wooden seat connects to the metal mine says 349L and 349 O. Mine are from Forbes Field. Not sure if that means anything.

Yea mine says 349 L as well. Do all of the seats have these numbers or just Forbes field?

No clue. Do you have any provenance on them? Mine came directly from the guy who owned the demolition company that tore down Forbes Field. As of 1992 (when I got mine) there was a land fill that I was taken to that literally had hundreds if not thousands of these seats. I loaded 2 sets of 2 into my car, totally free. Oh how I wish I brought a dump truck with me and grabbed them all!

Wow that is a great story. Don't you wish you could go back and get more! Do you want to sell a set?

Sorry, I apologize! Not looking to get rid of them. However, if I do go back to the landfill, I'll be sure to pick you up a set though! HAHA!
