Default R307 / R325 ??

Posted By: Tim Newcomb

Hi guys,

I've been working for a while on getting an example of all the pre-1948 baseball issues designated R in the American Card Catalog. I only need a couple more, which I will post in the BST so as not to cheese off Leon.

But I have two informational questions that I think could go here.

1. Does anyone know anything about the pennant issue designated R307? All the ACC says is "Baseball and College Designs, pennant shape 2 3/4 long". No date listed. SCD has no info either. Can anybody supply anything? Scarcity? A scan? Another name they're known by?

2. Same deal with R325, which the ACC calls "Big League Knot Hole Movies (24), Goudey, no picture, game" Thassit! Old Cardboard has a picture but little else. Can anyone supply any info on these obscurities?

Just for fun, here's my "have list" of R issues. R329 was skipped in the ACC for some reason.

they are flip books (bound small booklets of stiff pages that you riffle with your fingers. The images passing by look like a movie).

Can't give you any info about the issues you're looking for, but I just wanted to chime in and say that's a really cool collection of great card issues! I love the R cards - congrats on a cool assortment from a great era!

You left off R301 Overland Wrappers. Or for those borderline issue, R72 Schutter Johnson "I Want to be a Baseball Player" and R94 Babe Ruth Comes Home strip cards. Still, nice job!

Hey Glen
I thought the same thing though I believe Tim is making mention of the one's he has and not necessarily all R cards....otherwise, those are a few toughies you mention...I think there might be a few more but don't have my ACC handy at work....Here's one of the last R's I picked up....R94

Hey Tim,

I never noticed the skipped number, 329. I wonder what that was about. We'll never know, now. I got out my ACC and looked, can't find an R-329. Thanks for pointing that out! Frank.

If you check the BST, you'll see I have advertised for a few that I lack. As Leon mentions, the list above is the ones I do have examples of. Just staying out of the way of our relentless moderator

Tim
