They're not all cartoonish. W514's sometimes resemble the players. I, for one, don't share the prejudice against the strip cards with photos. It's good that you can still get key players from w-575-1 or W502 without spending much.

Actually,

W-516,517,519,522,555 and others all have good, realistic images.
I've noticed the big names on e-bay (primarily Ruth, Cobb) getting pretty good prices on e-bay lately. Still the most affordable cards of the era.

You're right - in my mind I meant to qualify my statement but it didn't translate to my post. I don't mind any of the real-image W cards; in fact, I have a few myself - just the cartoons.
