Default T206 size variance

Posted By: steve

The more I dive into the realm of T206's, the more I see (what I consider) substantial size variances on these cards.

There are many times when a T206 comes up on ebay - and I see the scan and say to myself, if that T206 sitting in that PSA case isn't trimmed, then I'm a monkey's uncle. I wouldn't touch that card with a 10 foot pole!

On the recent "Lets see your Cobb's" threads here, you folks post enough T206's. I now have seen some Cobb's with the largest borders.

Question: Do you all really think all those T206's sitting very loosely in PSA cases with room to shuffle around are NOT trimmed ? You know the ones with those small white boarders that make you do a double take. OR Is there indeed a big size variance on these right from the factory?

Steve.

There are definitely noticeable size variances, and even cards from an original cigar box find will vary. But as a rule of thumb I would stay away from smaller cards. Even good ones can end up being trouble.

i know how you feel. sometimes you wonder, if someone had a card with big borders, but the corners were rounded, they could trim the borders down to normal size and it'd be tough to tell the difference (for the non-experts).

but i guess when i think about it, i wouldn't mind if that happened. i still have the card

oh, and i have an american beauty that barely has any white borders on the sides, but from what i hear they were like that from the factory. even if it was trimmed ... at least i still have most of the card
