Default Heritage basically call Lelands & SCP non-major auction houses

https://sports.ha.com/itm/baseball/1...ription-071515

"Even with a massive 23,864-person crowd in the stands at Kansas City's Ruppert Stadium, this is the first time this historic piece has been offered in a major auction. "

oh really?.....

https://auction.lelands.com/bids/bidplace?itemid=67495 - $433

https://catalog.scpauctions.com/bids...e?itemid=17796 -$356

or they do piss poor research.

........and I've seen a few pop up on Ebay from time to time, I know, I bought one on Ebay a year ago.

Who here believes most of what they read in an auction description?

Actually, if someone asked me to name the major auction houses I would name Heritage and REA. There is a group of others, including those mentioned, which I would classify as midsize, and a group of smaller auctions. Just one man’s opinion.

I would put Lelands, Hunts, Goldin and SCP in the "major" category. All have handled countless items that have sold in the "6 Figures" range.

Yep, no one else operates on their scale. Now that I'm strictly memorabilia, my 'major' group includes Lelands and Hunt. I hope LOTG keeps growing, as Al is setting a great example of how auction houses should operate.

Well said Scott.
Collecting mostly antique baseball and hockey memorabilia now, I love drooling over some of the past Lelands and Hunt offerings from over the years.
