Default I need help in identifying a set

Can anyone recognize the set these cards belong to? Sorry for the bad photo; it is from an auction I am bidding in and this is the best photo available.

Thanks; any help is appreciated.

They are Diamond Matchbook covers, made from 1934 to 1936. Actually they are only part of the cover. The ones you show have been cut down from the full cover, and have no value. The full covers run about $5.00 for commons and $25 for stars. Search for Diamond Matchbook Covers and you'll find full sized ones.

Also, do these ever show up for sale as full UNUSED matchbooks with the matches still intact? If so, how much do those go for? I would imagine they would be very rare and much more valuable...

The full matchbooks with matches do show up for sale occassionally. They are not common. I believe they sell for over $100 for common players, and several times that for HOFers.

I own a full one (common player) but unfortunately it is at home and will not be able to scan it until my next break from college!

Don't know for how many years or if they did all teams but I happened to pick this up at a local non-sports show in the past year...
