T206 scarce back market

Thanks everybody responding to my previous thread.Gave me exactly what I was looking for in the PSA price guide along with the other info.How has the scarce back or more difficult back prices held up over the last 10 years?It seems certain issues are somewhat cyclical as far as popularity such as the caramel market etc.Has the same thing affected backs at any point?Again this is a very broad question considering the range of scarcity/combos.

I've been collecting T206, including backs for 15 years. I think that the backs have held their value, and mostly gone up. But as Ryan said, the front makes a difference as well. But as investments, they should continue to hold their value. T206 remains the most popular set, and I see no reason for that to change.

As an example of the front mattering: I bought a Howell/ Lenox PSA 3 in 2004. If I sold it today I would get roughly double what I paid. I also bought a red Cobb/ Lenox PSA 2 in 2009. Today I could sell it for about five times what I paid for it. It's gone up more because it's a Cobb.

I can't tell you which cards will be hot next, but the rarest backs do seem to only go up.

When you say Rare Backs which ones are you referring to?

Anything Not Piedmont / Sweet Caporal or just Super Rare like Uzit.

Are Sovereign Going Up or is that too Common?

Coupon and Red Cross are Not T206.

They are T213 and T215

There are many threads discussing the topic of Red Cross and coupon as they relate to t206 on this board. I suggest you use the search feature and go back and read a few of them. Though you are technically correct there are some valid arguments as to why burdick may have been wrong. A collector can decide his own collections parameters. Ps with all the pricing information and past sales records so easily available in this day and age it seems like a question the op could answer with just a small amount of effort. Instead of relying on others to give him the information he could easily find himself.
