Default 1951 Bowman Mantle PSA 2.. am I missing something?

Posted By: Jamie

usually getting a mantle under 1000 is a good deal in a 1 condition. A 2 is usually about 1500 and a 3 I would say can go for as much as 2000.
Anyone see whats wrong with this PSA 2 mantle that ended at 900.. which at first glance looks like a steal?

eddited to add: I emailed the seller asking for the cert number which he gave 30784497

Not a pre war card, but one of the BID DOGs, IMO.

Your link is NOT working for me or perhaps its my PC but if this is the one your referring to; http://tinyurl.com/625olo

The scan is horrible, too far away and the front of the card appears to be dirty. It could be a case of buying the card and NOT the holder... my guess.

Sellers feedback didn't help the sale either.

97% feedback seller with a number of recent problems selling stuff they apparently don't have. Lousy picture and when you compare the tone and coloring of the 1951 Mantle with the other cards it doesn't make his picture look like it's a real card. Mantles go cheap when cautious buyers step aside and let people who are willing to risk their money take over.

The bad thing about auctions like this is that the price will go into VCP and then people will be quoting that twos are only worth $906 like gospel.

The card appears awfully dirty, especially the right side. Check this scan of a similar one to see the difference.
