Default The 'Curse' of OC??

How much does a card being slightly off-center bother you??

The top card is listed for $108.99 on ebay.
The second card for $119.95.
The bottom card with a qualifier? I happily (and quickly) grabbed it up for twenty something bucks. To me, the difference between them all (especially looking at the similar amounts of white space on the bottoms) is close enough to be negligible.

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.

Overpaying yesterday is simply underpaying tomorrow.

I'm basically fine with people far wealthier than me being obsessed with centering (and other minor condition issues) and blowing the market for that stuff up while leaving the market for the mid-grade collector like myself undisturbed. Happy days!

Sometimes it's a fine line between getting the qualifier or not. That particular card looks nice even with it being OC. Same with the 54 Banks. In many others the difference is much more noticeable. Nice pick up.

That's the way I pursue them too: it is all about eye appeal. This one was a fraction of the price on a set that is notorious for centering issues

Your card perfectly illustrates my point. I have no knowledge about the ins and outs of that hockey set's centering (and I've never seen that card before). Without placing a straight 9 next to it and comparing all the minutiae, it looks perfectly fine to me. Love it!

+1.

So well put, and ditto the acknowledgement from Ben.

And yeah Adam, that's a nice Beliveau. I've seen worse centering on that set and the '68 OPC equivalent that was not labelled OC.
