Default "Net54baseball" mentioned in Wagner card article

So Leon, do you have a nice suit ready in case your called as an expert witness sometime in the future?

Just kidding of course, good to see your named mention along with the likes of Gretzky in the same news article.

I don't know about "expert" witness but I was told last night that if the Legendary case goes to trial I might be called as a witness. Not sure for what but it could be about the board and things that have been written on it. I have been questioned many times by authorities concerning the hobby.

Also, as of now Michael O'Keefe will be speaking again at the Net54baseball Dinner this year. We have a great line up and I am excited.

I don't know if the value would really go up $500,000.00 after it's all said and done, but who knows.

Congrats Leon, you've hit the big times now ,, just make sure to correct them so they know you are the peasant/forum owner, not just the moderator

Sincerely, Clayton

I'm with Clayton- I don't believe the value of the card will now increase. I say it will now plummet.

I remember when the card originally came to action. A friend of mine who worked for CSA at the time (they were big vintage guys back then) said that the room was buzzing that the card had been trimmed.

I think this could be very bad for the grader and very bad for folks who depend on getting cards graded. I can't see any way the card's value is increased because of the notoriety, at least in the long view. If so, the Cincinnati Wagner would have sold months ago.

So in the article I was quoted as saying 10%-15% value on a trimmed card. That is for an ordinary card. As I stated on the other side of the board I am not sure it applies to this card. This card, imo, might not have much of a hit on it at all since it is still clearly the best looking Wags in the hobby by a long shot, regardless of what is on the slab. regards

Hey Leon,

Your quote might drive the prices of all trimmed cards in the future.

Congratulations on making the big times.

If it's put in an AUTH holder and still sells for several million dollars, more power to it. All I ask, and I know it's probably asking too much, is for the label to state the card's actual grade. If it stays at an 8 then it's misrepresented. Then let the bidders decide what the card is worth.

Yes. The card is authentic. No knowledgeable person has ever questioned the card's authenticity. Absolutely not an issue.

meanwhile, the plank, which was bought at the same time from the same guy who originally sold mastro the wager, and has the same back as the wagner, and was sold at auction being described as the mate to the wagner card, was labeled authentic by psa, as being cut from a sheet, but not the wagner?

I agree. I believe the Wagner will hold it's value. It's also possible we will never know if it doesn't ever get sold again - regardless of whether or not it gets regraded or not. Who knows? After all is said and done I believe this Wagner will represent a huge turning point in our hobby as a whole. Perhaps if it's resold the new buyer would assign much value to it because of this even if it is in an AUTH slab.
