Default Contentnea Back Variations

Posted By: Zach Rice

I was recently going through my T209-2s and noticed a few with subtle back variations. None of these are anything too dramatic but I thought they were intriguing. I would be interested in hearing from other Contentnea collectors and other variations.

Here is a standard back: Bottom right corner

Factory No. 12, 4th Dist., N.C.

Variation #1 (no comma after Dist and a single comma between NC, not multiple periods): Top left corner

Factory No. 12, 4th Dist. N,C

Variation #2 (no markings after Dist and no period after NC): bottom left corner

Factory No. 12, 4th Dist N.C

Variation #3 (the factory number, 12, is not complete, it is only a 1, and no period after NC): Top right corner

Factory No. 1 4th Dist., N.C

I dont believe any of these variations are very significant, or worth a monetary increase in the card's value, but are nonetheless interesting. Contentnea fans, please share your variations.

Default Contentnea Back Variations

I checked mine and found two interesting things. I have dupes of Dobson Fayetteville with different backs - I have it with both the standard and the variation #2 backs (no markings between Dist and N.C). I'd swap one for a T209 I need.

Also, my Boyle misspells Fayetteville as Fayettville missing the middle e. Is this an uncorrected error?

Andy,

I just checked my Boyle card and it, too, has the same misspelling of Fayetteville. I imagine this is nothing more than an uncorrected error.

Brian,

Those backs are very interesting. It seems like the reverse printing of these cards really lacked consistency.
