Default Just my 2 cents about Blowout.com forums

I'm copy/pasting what I typed on another forum to save time...

Quote:
I'm an adult and feel silly doing this but what ever....

yes, I was banned.
I was banned for no actual reason of me doing anything wrong to anyone.
It was simply because I dont say the same things or believe the same things as everyone else.
I have plenty of tact but as you get older theres no reason not to say what you think except maybe to the new childish generation that thinks
being offended is a criminal offense.

you know what? I was actually banned a couple years ago from there. Again, for no reason other than having an unpopular counter-view.

I think people abuse the term trolling as well. It seems to be anything someone else doesnt like or cant understand.

the only reason I bring that up is this..that site is/was childish but at least more active than here or =54=.

but I would like to get back into the hobby in some small way and the internet will hopefully help in that

..but the last thing I need is paranoid internet geeks going on witch hunts about guys getting banned from other sites.

I'm as normal as anyone and you would know that if you actually knew me.
but I dont want to run out of sites/forums for simply being normal me lol.

LOL
I got banned for being opinionated about/that ..the show about a female MLB pitcher was a feminist agenda show and women will never be able to compete with men at that level.
I said that Paterno was not at fault for the Sandusky thing and most written about it was sensationalized propaganda.
Theres no way a guy with kids of his own would let that slide.
You can disagree with me,it doesnt matter. Why should that get me banned? the world is still based in mob rule and you arent allowed to be different.

I dont care to talk about that stuff here, thats not the point. I'm just being honest and saying I want card-sites to go to and eventually buy and sell and stuff.

and if anyone goes to both sites and has a problem, you need to grow the heck up and get over it.

I am 51 and when I was young in the 1970s,my family belonged to a cult church so my ability to detect deception, lies and bullcrap is heightened and where most of my views come from now.
I know nothing is as it seems anymore and things like Occam's razor is just an excuse for people to stay ignorant.
In other words I dont just go for the simpler solution.

but all I want to do here is hobby stuff thats a little deeper than "hey guy, thats a cool card" in every other post.
and maybe trade by mail for the first time ever lol

but I also hope to find more active sites.
you guys and net54 just don't seem to get too chatty. But google hasnt helped much.
your site is colorful though..but takes a few more seconds to load than others for me.

i'm not looking to raise drama. Just being honest about who I am to a small degree and I'm sick of getting banned by childish dweebs because I'm just thinking for myself and being me.

now excuse me while I open a Score-Panini 52 pack for 4.99 I got at the local Fred Meyers store tonight.

thanks,
Perry

What did you get banned for here, no full name?
That is a cardinal rule on this site when giving an opinion.
I don't think we will be a chatty site like you are looking for. Most of us are a bit older but you will still see a lot of kudos and thank yous. It kind of goes with the territory.
Also, it looks like you do mostly football so maybe that is part of the issue. Football cards aren't collected as heavily as baseball. Good luck in the hunt.

Biletnikoff was his name there I think. Don't engage with this person unless you want your brain to leak out through your ears.

Half way thru the OP post I had to stop and go watch the Mr Rogers post on the " I need to hear some good news" thread. It didn't help

Fascinating.

See what I mean?
I show an amount of honesty and transperency and its met
With a childish response.
Brain leak? Maybe you'll actually learn that there is more than a black or white side to every story instead.
Sorry, had to respond in my defense but won't pursue this remark any further.

I believe I already gave my full name to be able to join the site.
I dont need to keep typing it out in the open due to typical internet fears etc.

when I make a trade or transaction my full name will be known

It is a rule given at the top of the website. You don't have to post your name if you stick to just talking about the hobby and not giving opinions about people or company.

not a smart rule if the other person is an obsessive compulsive criminal who then harasses you.
I didnt give an opinion about any company. I gave an opinion about the general behavior of a forum of people using fake names themselves.
that doesnt merit my personal information to an unknown population. My first name is adequate for being open to unknown people. Its common sense to not keep giving your full name.

You agreed to the few rules this forum has when you signed up. The requirement that your name be listed in any post where you provide an opinion on another person, or entity, is not open to interpretation, or discussion. You provided an opinion on Blowout.com. Therefore, your full name needs to be listed in the post where said opinion was provided. You can either abide by this rule, or you will not be allowed to continue posting here.

As for this topic, what, exactly, did you hope to accomplish?

And, yes, you did provide an opinion of the site:

I rebutted your interpretation intellectually, logically and correctly already.

Your redundancy is unnecessary. This place has my full name for the honesty of transactions and reputation. I dont need to spell it out everywhere to an untrustworthy global internet. Do you have enough common sense to get that?

I hoped to accomplish that I'm an honest adult with good intentions, who is sick and tired of people who cant handle adult logic and opinions.

I'll leave it alone here and just talk about cards since anything else frightens and confuses most people.

Just me, but doesn't seem like the best start as a new member. Yellow flags are already popping up for me. I do wish you good luck though, there are some really nice guys here that have already helped me on my collecting adventures.

Your continued arguing of your 'position', which as noted is in clear violation of the posted rules (which are some of the most lax of any forum which I have ever been involved), only leads any 'honest adult' to question one's 'good intentions'. It has nothing to do with intellect, logic, or common sense. Though I would hope you could see how those of us with those qualities would question your true intentions.

I will probably have at most, 1 additional response to any of this. Good luck and happy collecting!

Looks like the same old routine here but at least it will probably be over a bit quicker than his other attempts. Cheers!

Let's just follow this to a logical conclusion, shall we? Strictly for argument's sake, let's say you didn't provide an opinion on the site (though you clearly did). You, then, provided an opinion about the posters on Blowout.com. This still falls within the rule:

Quote:
If you give an opinion of a person or company your full name needs to be in your post.
You can argue semantics all you want. You can also insult the intelligence of the posters here. Doesn't bother me one bit. The inevitable result is the same, because it seems you're incapable of discerning what is acceptable behavior here, and what is not.
