Default W515-2 Strip Cards

Posted By: DD

Does anyone know if each of the cards can be found with different sections of the wording from "The Little Wonder Pictures Series" on top, or are there some that are always blank, or found only with the same section of wording?

Thanks

Default W515-2 Strip Cards

Posted By: S Gross

This observation is based on corresponding W515-2 Boxing strips:

I believe they were in strips of 5.
"The Little Wonder Piture Series" was centered above the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th card of the strip.
The 1st and 5th card of strip did not have any top border printing.

Therefore, I assume, any card that has a number ending in 2,3,4,7,8, or 9, would have top border writing, and any card with a number ending in 1,5,6, or 0, would not.

The cards you show follow this idea:

43 Jones
44 Snyder
59 Hollocher

Here are my examples:
1 - Dempsey (no top border writing)
2 - Siki (The Littl)
3 - Willis (Wonder Pic)
4 - Carpentier (ure Series)
5 - Johnson (no top border writing)

I'm sure others can check their numbers and post ...... there are a few of us strip freaks out there

My only W515-2 right now. Bob Shawkey is #9 and is consistent with what has been stated...

Here is a tougher ad strip at top, one not often seen (W516-1)...

The boxing cards have different cropping for the images on strips with the printing; is there any different cropping on the baseball cards?
