Default Good read on 1869 Red Stockings

John Thorn’s Our Game blog has an article the 1869 Red Stockings that is well worth mentioning.
Basically it is a reprinting of an article written by club President Aaron Champion that had originally appeared in the August 1887 issue of Saxby’s magazine.
I have looked for this issue for about 20 years without success so this is a welcome addition to information about this team.
If anyone has any items about this team or Champion for sale, I would love to hear about them.
