Default 1900s D-Cards...Bakery Cards.

So lets get back to some Pre War on the front page, the way it should be. I always say, (or at least usually) that if you want to change something then you need to do something. Anyone have other Baking issues (pre war please) that you care to share? Here is an uncategorized D card distributed with bread....
This one is a D-Unc.......And the blurb below is taken from the 1960 ACC....

Some very difficult issues. The flood of D381s that have hit the market in the last year is really cool. I love em

One of my favorites and coming from Lionel Carter's collection makes it extra special to me.

Default Bakery cards

I really enjoy the Weil and Holsum cards. They don't come up for sale very often except for the cards in the eBay museum.

The 1917's are much tougher than the 1916's, and they seem to be much tougher than the Holsum cards. The Standard Catalog lists 200 cards in the 1916 set and 200 cards in the 1917 set, but I doubt that there are enough cards out there to put together either of these sets.

Great baking cards, guys!

Had to chuckle at the photo, David. I don't think I would've had the guts to leave the toaster plugged in.

Hey Leon, were a couple of D cards the only ones missing from your old type collection or did you get those eventually?

Nope, didn't pursue them. One came up in the REA Gant collection last year, a very well (to me) known D355. I really wanted it when I could have had it a few years before selling my first collection, and I was confident if I got that type, I could get the other as I knew where a dupe was that could probably be had. It just didn't seem to matter after I sold my type "set" to try to finish it in absentia.

Default Standard Biscuit d350-1

That's a great run of Mother's Bread cards, Jerry. Wagner and Mathewson are off the charts.

Here's a scan of a standard biscuit Schulte (I can't remember If I still own this one.) Plus, some more of the same series, d350-1, including an upside down back (Al Demaree)...

These are not pre-War (nor post-War either), but close enough for Net54 work! These 2 cards are 1943 & 1944 issues. I still need Speece's 1945 Centennial Flour card for my collection of players who were on the 1924 Senators team- a complete 1945 set was just sold in the Seattle auction - if the winning bidder intends to break up the set, kindly LMK.

I've just started wondering about this:

Every D310 with an Aldon Candy Co. Stamp that I've seen has been printed near the bottom of the card, with many incomplete due to being cut from the sheet right around where the stamp is...

...my question is: why aren't there any D310's with a incomplete Aldon Candy Co. stamp at the top? Were D310 sheets different from most standard card sheets (for example, having a space inbetween every card)? Any other explanation? Or have I just not looked hard enough?

Sorry for the lack of good grammar, gotta type this quick and go for dinner.

Attached is a link (the file is too large for uploading) to my D310 with a incomplete Aldon Stamp: http://imgur.com/a/1XUlb

I have always assumed that the cards were hand stamped after they were already cut down to size.

Default Some misc. D cards

I found some scans of various 'D' cards just laying around in a pile in the corner of the room (the scans were lying there, not the cards, so refrain all letters to the editor). Please pretend not to see the Zeenut card, and it will pretend not to notice you not looking at it.

I'm looking for a D382 Tarzan Bread card of Tom Zachary. I will gladly trade this one for a lesser condition one of Zachary.
