Default Old Cabinet Card

Every time I go to an antique mall, I thumb through 100s of photos hoping to find an image of a baseball or football player. I've never found one yet lol! I purchased this cabinet card (4"X 6" with bottom trimmed) at the big show in Cleveland this past weekend. The "pinking sheared" edges are colored in gold to bad the bottom is trimmed, the back is blank.
I know nothing else about the card but I do like it! I assume this is just a ballplayer who stopped in to a studio to have his picture taken?

Card was priced $39 but bundled with some other items it was discounted some.

Nice image at a fair price. The trim takes a little away from the overall appearance but also, unfortunately, removes the photograph location. The player looks very much to be dressed in an 1880’s uniform but the glove and the ornate mount would point more to later 1890’s I would think.
