Default National pickup - E121 Babe Ruth question

I wanted to see if anyone may be able to provide some insight on this Babe Ruth card I picked up at the National. The dealer I purchased the card from felt that this was a skinned E121. Having had a few days to look it over, I'm not sure that's the case. The back of the card is completely smooth, minus the obvious wrinkles and creasing. The stock simply does not look like any of the skinned cards I have encountered previously. It is matches up well in thickness and texture to the other E121s I have purchased, only blank. It does seem to have the correct half tone printing however and passed the blacklight test so I know at a minimum the paper is old. I tried to do some research and this card also does not appear to be part of one of the blank backed sets that are similar to the E121s. I suspected W575-1 as the most likely issue but the caption is not consistent with the checklist I was able to locate. I also thought perhaps Koester Bread but again, the caption doesn't seem to match the checklist and the paper isn't as thick as my Koester Bread type. I had SGC take a look at the card during the show and they seemed to indicate the card was not counterfeit but declined grading as the issue has not been confirmed with a blank back. So, I am back at square one. While I am happy with the purchase and the price I paid, I was curious to see what others thoughts on this particular card might be.

That looks like a possible 1917 E135 Collins-McCarthy card although I can't match the "right field" listing.

Good catch. Looks like it is the 1922 W575-1 Henry Johnson Confectioners Babe Ruth

As stated it's not a koster's bread if it is not on thick card stock. Also it should say George Ruth, not Babe.

Thanks for the help with this one. I thought W575-1 was a real possibility but only saw the “Babe” in quotes on the checklist I was able to find. I think the mystery is solved.

A lot of misinformation in this thread. Gary & Toby are correct.
