Default Money is no object

Some poor soul will think they hit a jackpot

Amazing that the whole thing is tarnished except where they just engraved it.

Saw those this morning and thought the same thing as you. I own a trophy shop and do engraving every day. You can tell that this was machine engraved and not hand engraved, which would be all that was available back in the day.

Unfortunately, the Bay will never be cleansed of these criminals. They militantly operate under the over of Caveat Emptor and a sucker is born every minute.

I am no lawyer but I don't think you can "caveat emptor" your way out of fraud...which is a lot of what goes on, on ebay.

Default trying to trick the trickster.

Just sent a question - telling him I'm REALLY interested and asked him to post a scan of the "makers mark" on the plate. Certainly an MVP award from sterling silver - my guess is whoever did this one - clearly didn't waste their money on sterling when they could defraud using silver plate or "silver colored metal :-) Hoping he posts his response to save some poor soul.

I find ebay so difficult to deal with. Many times I have alerted them to bogus championship rings on their site. Each time, my requestes and alerts were ignored. I guess I am not considered a power user and my emails fall on deaf ears.

I put these two auctions on my website as an alert to collectors. Hopefully it will help.

Richard, I can't feel sorry for people who are that dumb. DO THE RESEARCH before buying an obvious fake.

Looks like the same guy bought both "awards".

As I said before, I am 100% convinced that the engraving was done by a machine and we know that there weren't any engraving machines like that back in those days.

My engraver is running right now.........I guess I should go over to the antique mart and pick up some silver plates and start engraving

It just amazes me how there seems to be such a disproportionate number of scammers located in the south Ohio, Kentucky, North Tennessee region.
