Best 50's cards -- non-HOF edition
Great thread from Doug got me wondering: what are your favorite cards from the 50's that don't feature HOFers? I collect '52 Bowman, and have always liked the Joe Adcock from that set (thanks to Dan Austin's "virtual card collection" site for the jpeg).

I think that the 1957 Topps Don Zimmer card is one of the best looking cards of the 50's. Particularly so in light of the subject matter.

1950 Bowman Bob Scheffling #168
Here's my pick. A great looking card, Cincinnati Reds player, and a catcher card. My two favorite combinations. I really like all the catcher cards from the 50 Bowman set, but this one is my favorite.

A couple spring to mind...
1953 Bowman Color of Minnie Minoso
1950 Bowman Wayne Terwilliger (I LOVE how this image is constituted - color, pose, background, etc is a homerun for me) and the 1951 Bowman Luke Easter and the Joe Garagiola from the 1953 Bowman edit -ok, so when I say "a couple" I mean at least 4 apparently! edit #2 - Added scans from Vintage Card Prices.com to illustrate my point. Strong examples of these cards are classics, in my opinion.

Agreed with Zernial and Klu. I love the 57 Topps set. The aesthetic appeal is beyond compare. Some favorites from the set are Wilmer Mizell, Foster Castleman, Paul Smith, Rube Walker, and Elmer Valo.
