if you held it in your hand you'd be able to see that it is a photo of a photo. On the front borders it appears like their is white tape. but if you run your finger over them it has no texture. additionally, the photo is kind of hazy, not extremely clear. If it is a type 1, the camera was out of focus.

That is strange, not something I've seen before.

here is what I'm talking about for the tape. I've seen this taping before on other photos. But this is not tape on my photo.

Default crazing

This is an example of a photo being subjected to too much heat or dampness.

It's OLD.

When a photo crinkles up like this, it is called crazing. Look up Coyle Studios for an explanation of crazing.

The photo is a Type I.

Even though the the photo is old, which I'm not arguing against, it is not made from an original negative. It is a photo of a photo, and therefore cannot be type 1.

I recently picked up this 1929 R316 5x7 photo of Jimmy Foxx. I believe this can also be viewed as a Type 1 photo. I've always liked this image which was used for Foxx's 1933 Goudey.

Foxx would technically be a type 3 as the original negative was not used to produce those. Chris posted the type 1 of that photo in the pickup thread, notice the difference of image clarity.

Still a great card/photo!
