Another card in the thread that would probably make my all-time top ten list for artistic beauty.

I knew this card would make an appearance in this thread. What a photo! When it comes to ranking cards based on artistry, this one definitely makes a case to be number one of all time.

Just a COUPLE adds, since you guys got most of the best already:

1914 Joe Jackson

1953 Mantle

I know people talk about many of the 33 Goudey's looking like Normal Rockwells. This one looks like an Andy Warhol!

1953 - 1955 Stahl-Meyer Franks Mickey Mantle (uses the same photo for each year, and since it's such a mesmerizing portrait, and collectively so scarce to downright rare, that's a good thing)

1959 Bazooka Mickey Mantle

1960 Post Cereal Mickey Mantle

I'm not adroit at loading up images, but many of you know them by heart, even if you don't own them. Love your choices, too, guys. Thanks for sharing.

Default always impressed by this one

It may not be my absolute favorite. That's probably something from the Cracker Jacks or from the set that used to be called White Borders, but this one always stuck in my mind as an impressive drawing:

1953 Bowman Mantle -image

1952 Topps Mays - color contrast white borders to dark purply blue followed by the black and orange on Mays hats .

1954 aaron great color ! The Brave in the top corner and the black and white image of Aaron fielding is great.

Default I find this card to be quite beautiful ...

If I liquidated all of my cards this would be one of the last ones left.

This 1974 Calbee card is the most beautiful in my books. The photo is just so strikingly composed. That is Sadaharu Oh at bat while Shigeo Nagashima crouches in the on deck circle in the final game of his career. I did a write up about it a couple of years ago here:

Default Mantles

Isn't this in the top 5 Mantle cards too? I think this one ranks right up there in beauty with the 52 and 53 Topps and the 1953B Color.
