No worries - certainly not taken that way at all!

Appreciate the outpouring of great comments here, both in the thread and via a few PM's as well. Life just got more challenging but a lot more exciting at the same time!

Now, back to our regularly scheduled pickup thread!

And Pete - incredible to see your Joe Jackson - I never even saw that one before. It would've been worth trading the house for it if you had to!

Default September Pickup

A welcomed addition to my collection. Isaac Murphy, considered the greatest Jockey of all time. He was the first jockey to win three Kentucky Derbies, and the first jockey inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Picked up another weird T209 that I cant find any info about the player actually ever being on the roster. Quite a few T209/T210 like that. I guess they were just in the right place at the right time trying out.

Default Nice pickup on the Otto Miller

Brian,

Nice pickup on the Otto Miller Cycle T207.

Maybe SGC will correct the name on their label?

Tell them to turn it over next time!

Patrick,

LOL. Thank you. Yeah, I thought that left a little to be desired on SGC's end. I have to admit I will leave the error alone because I do not deal with grading companies. Any cards you see graded in my posts someone else submitted.

Its nice making friends with board members that help with my collection. You make recognize these cards from Leon's collection. I'm very excited to place these with my growing collection. September has been an awesome month with about 20 more cards on their way.

got me a Fatty! Thanks Robert for this whale. I have been looking for this card for at least 10 years. Other than the one on eBay, I can't remember one for sale. Anybody have the pop report on these? Thanks!

Yes, the Graham is one of the rarities. Mitchell being #1 and Sweeney and Graham next in line. There are a number of rarities in the set and it has been debated as to the actual ranking. I believe the Shean card is up there with the Sweeney and Graham and maybe the Speaker.

Well, I'm on track to have 30 new cards by my 32nd birthday on the 30th of this month (23/30). After already picking up T206 Mike Mitchell Tolstoi, E100 Tennant, T204 Bancroft twins (Ramly and Blank Backs), and a Larry Doyle Successful Farming this month I received my first group of Zeenuts and Colgans' plus a nice Peckinpaugh from Rhett yesterday.

(These will not me my last Zeenuts. They are pretty awesome and will be proudly displayed with the rest of my collection.)

to add to my Columbus collection

My First Zeenuts EVER!!
representing 1912, 1914, 1916, 1919-1923, & 1932

Default It's Been A While....

My first pre-war pick-up in quite some time. This was always my favorite T207. Like the pose, and find child-like humor in the spelling of his name. Finally found one in the grade I was looking for, and at a reasonable price.

Here's card 24 for September. Number 25 is at the post office and 26 is on its way. 27-29 are being held awaiting payment. Just need to pick out card 30. I'm almost thinking about adding 2 more to make 32 since that's the age I'll be turning this year. This could be an annual thing if this year works out I will of course add one card for each year I gain in age.

Billiard was on the team roster for the 1912 Columbus Senators.
Thanks Jason for my first T210 Orange Border!!
