My snipe was just 60% of the hammer, and I was confident!.. Appears SGC 80/6. Kudos

I've still got a T205 Cyclone as tradebait.

Edited to change grade guess, now that I've seen a clear shot.

'You done real good Newman.' ahh Barry, Josh?

Thanks Steve - Im happy with it (I actually didnt think my bid would be enough) - will be happier once its in hand and I can be sure it has no problems.

Josh,

May I ask what you think this card will be graded at? I was hesitant to bid due to the ink mark on the bottom right...thanks

Hey Chris,

Its hard to say without having the card in hand and being able to see if there are any wrinkles, etc. that dont appear in the scan. The mark on the bottom right really didnt concern me too much. My biggest concern was the possibility of it being trimmed, but after getting the additional scans from the seller and some opinions from a few other board members, I dont believe that to be the case. I will hopefully have it graded by next week, so I will let you know.

BTW - what makes you think its ink on the bottom?

Nice card, especially for a candy card.

Good sign is the left and right borders are both slightly angled so I would say it looks all original and not trimmed.

SGC is not that tough. The card loooks like a 60 to me at least. Interesting that the seller sent out different scans, mine were half in size and not as clear. Had I seen this one I would've sniped alot more.

edited to add: if upper right is a corner wrinkle/crease then i think it's a 50 also...

Quan,

I think I originally got the same scan you did, and asked for a new one. Im sure he could have done better by sending out the better scan from the start.

Dan, thanks for leaving one for us little guys every now and then

Danno- Because of Ebay's new policy, you won't see any Ebay names. Now I won't feel bad trumping your bid cause I could just play dumb. e102 Evers... Here I come!

congrats josh, best deal of the new year so far. Do I win a common sgc40 e95 common from the JK collection for guessing the grade right?

So, that lower right corner mark must have been just a printer's mark.
This card has always been my favorite Cobb ( other than the T206 green Cobb).
The color and intensity of his eyes on this card is unlike any others of him.

Quan - the only thing you get from the JK collection will be an E95 common in an SGC 10 holder that looks like an SGC 40 until you turn it over.

Thanks guys - Quan, if I had any e95 commons (or for that matter, other e95s) Id certainly consider it - Richard, you've got that wrong, my sgc 10 cards look like 80s until you turn them over

Ted - yes, it appeared to be only a stray printer's mark of some sort when I looked at the card (I had the card all of 10 minutes before packing it up and shipping it to sgc).
