Default Spalding Bat

Matt,

That Spalding bat is a really nice piece. Very unusual ring color combination.

I think its probably 1880's- 90's. It has a suppliers name on the knob from Hartford that was active during that period. The bat is huge. The Campy is 35 1/2 inches, while the spalding is in the 37" range

That's just terrific Rich. Hard to imagine a better Twain piece than that one. Best, Jimmy

Default Yesterdays flea market finds

I usually don't find anything worthy enough to post(and this may not be either) but thought I would share a couple finds from yesterday...Really like the Chesterfield Cig cardboard ad display even though in rough shape; I think it's from the '30's maybe??? and a nice youth 1-inch web.

Picked up a couple more signed magazines for my Yankee wall. A 1949 Sports Parade with Tom Henrich (Kinda creepy cover but fills a void in my collection) and a 1963 Street & Smith with Tom Tresh on the cover.

That's a great-looking poster...Chesterfield was a very active football sponsor in the late 1930s...a number of colorful football-themed ads can be found on the back covers of magazines in that era. They produced a metal stadium ashtray around the same time...

I've been lucky lately.

Bill- I wish it was a hillerich and son with that knob, but its the only H&B I've ever seen with an egg knob, so I guess I can't be fussy.

Matt

Picked up a France Laux autograph. He was the 1934 Cardinals announcer and with this purchase just leaves 2 more to complete the entire project!
