lack of walter johnson caramels

i was wondering why there were so few caramels pre 1915 printed of walter johnson?was it because his rookie year was 1907 and wasn't firmly established as a great pitcher until 1910?

to the players? If so, some of the stars like Johnson may have gotten into disputes over what they would receive for use of their image.

Hi there.
This one's been discussed before. It's a good topic. Search for it.

I believe it's simply because the caramels feature stars of the day that had been around longer than WJ.

Some of the others might know a lot better, but it could be possible that the "pool" of photos used for many of the players included in the sets (many are the same players used across several caramel sets) did not include johnson.
