Please put me down for #3 - Ossee Schreck.

Slow and steady may win the race, but in my case slow and steady slays a high grade monster.

Frank, if you could update me to 43 cards. Of course, you know which card I added

500. Jake Weimer portrait

It's been so long since I've been able to post in here, I just wanted to get off the snide.

Thank you, sir.

2 more additions push me up to 497.9. It's starting to get hard to breath at this altitude, especially on C.C. payment day.:

Just broke the 300 barrier and am now resting at 315. Among the acquisitions were the alphabetically first (Abbaticchio) and last (Zimmerman) cards, a HOF (Evers, Cubs), and a SL (Molly Miller).

Well... I've decided to tackle The Monster, as best I can on a teacher's salary. Looking for low grade, but no beaters. I'll scan some examples for quality later.

Made my first two acquisitions, a Tolstoi back and a Marquard, earlier this month, and just bought 29 more commons.

Please add me and my score of 31 to the list.

Frank,

I am at 94, as of today. Only six more to meet my goal for the first year. Not too bad for one year.

Hi Frank,

Please bump my MN up to 69 when you get a chance.

I re-acquired this Addie Joss Portrait after selling it off earlier this year to fund a purchase. Quite happy to have it back in my collection.

Best regards,

Eric

Default Another Birthday

No longer a toddler, the Monster Number thread now enters its fourth year.

Views are up nearly 50% from previous years. Once again over 400 posts per year.

7759 new cards were added this year. I'm sure there are no dupes on the list.

Will this ever end? When Kentucky runs out of bourbon is my guess.

From Derek's latest auction, I snagged one more to get my MN up to 498.9. My pace has slowed to a crawl. Here is a bit of unsolicited advice to all of you collectors towards the bottom of Frank's list. Do not do what I did. I banged out all of the Commons, Southern Leaguers and third tier HOF guys first. I am stuck with increasingly Bigger Dawgs from here on out. The card cash cache stays on life support.

The latest purchase:

475. Joe Tinker (Bat On Shoulder) POLAR BEAR

For the past 15 years I have been strictly an autograph collector. I have an autograph of every player who has debuted in major league baseball from 1946 to 2014 other than 4 players who debuted in 2014, who I should get in spring training. Thats 69 years in a row and 10,627 different players.

Well after seeing all the great cards people post on this site, it has turned me in to a vintage card lover. I have decided in 2015 I am going to tackle the monster.

So far this month I have picked up 25, so put me at 25.

Going to try to collect all in SGC slabs, and starting off with the commons.

Looking forward to the challenge and learning more about the history of this set and its players.

Hi Frank,

I picked up two more T206 cards recently, including a Rube Oldring double name.

Please bump my Monster Number up to 71.

Best regards and Happy Holidays,

Eric
