Default O/T--current baseball, classic feel

Posted By: Leslie Westbrook

Ok, I know this is off-topic (my first ever O/T post), but during the course of my normal work as a newspaper photographer I found myself shooting a high school baseball game in Breaux Bridge, LA. H.S. baseball games kind of all run together most of the time photo-wise...all the hurricane fencing, new-looking seats, bleachers, field, uniforms, etc...but tonight stood out to me because the ballfield in this little town has the look of oldtime baseball. It made for a great setting to take photos around sunset, and I was very pleased to see several of the photos reminding me of age-old images. Just thought I'd share. If this is too far off-base, then please feel free to delete it. Happy baseball season everybody.

Just click on the Breaux Bridge vs. Teurlings photo/gallery to see the photos.

Excellent pictures, Leslie. Classic indeed. Wish you had been around 100 years ago shooting some of our deadball heroes when they were schoolboys. Wouldn't that be something?

wouldv'e been a lot more equipment to lug around (or at least a lot more work to do), but it would have been oh-so worth it.

Those are beautiful pictures.

I'm supposed to go deal with little league stuff all day today; coaching practices and dealing with field maintenance and such. I was dreading it, but now I kinda can't wait.

Thanks for sharing.
