Can someone tell me about the 1912 t227 series issued by Miners Tobacco? How many total cards? How hard to collect?

Thanks

The set has 25 total cards, with 4 baseball players:
Cobb, Bender, Marquard and Baker.

They can be expensive, Cobb can be easily $2000 and the other are around $400 - $750 in lower condition. I have no idea about the others in the set. They are really nice looking cards.

I think there are 25 cards in T227. 4 of them are baseball players. The cards depicting baseball players are expensive, the other cards cost about a tenth as much each, or sometimes less.

Mr. Burdick listed 24 cards. I think 25 is right. That is what Mr. Sugar had.

Abe Attell, Jack Johnson, Frank Klaus, Ad Wolgast and Johnny Coulon. Attell and Johnson command strong prices too, on par with the baseball players other than Cobb. The Miners Extra are harder to find than the Honest Long Cut backs. People who specialize will also pay premiums for the wrestler, aviator, driver and golfer cards.

Issue #10 (Winter, 2007) of Old Cardboard has a good article about the set, complete with color pictures of all the cards.

According to the article, card backs mention that there are "25 Designs" in the "Series of Champions". To date however, only 24 different subjects have been found.

Thanks again all. I'm mainly a Sport Kings collector so this set of mixed sports figures sounds perfect for me. And to find the mystery 25th card.......... a new reason to keep on collecting!
