I just got a really nice BVG 5 T206 in the mail today off eBay, with one problem. The card has a slight curvature near the top, running along its length, all the way across the card (Curve is about .25 inches long). For a 5 I would have expected no curving. Advice would be appreciated... Does this curving hurt the value of the card in any of your opinions?

Thanks,
Lee

The grade is BVG5, the curvature is a factor which impacts eye appeal. In your case there are probably offsetting factors which make your card more attractive and less attractive than the average BVG5. The curvature is one element in this equation, I think.

If they gave it a 5 then i would suspect that the corners must be sharp and color is nice. I have noticed BVG grades corners tough. If you got it for a good price then its a score. In my opinion.

I got it for $75; nice color no creases, even though the card is bent. I was wondering also how tough Beckett is on grading bent but not creased cards over unbent cards? Do you think it would be worth it to crack it out, put it in a book for a while and straighten it out, then resubmit for grading?

Thanks,
Lee

a grade especially if you send it to PSA or SGC. I have done it with a BVG T205 graded 4 to get a PSA 5, worked for me.

If you are not reselling the card and contend with the card in a holder. I would leave it as is.
