To most this will be no big deal but to me it's a great pickup. This is an N120 Dukes Novelties, and a card I didn't even know existed until seen on ebay. As someone trying to complete the pre-1950 ACC baseball type set this was really great. I have never seen this card before......

The girl with the beanie facing right looks very familiar, although I have never seen this card before, either. Does this girl appear on a more clearly baseball related card?

I may be going blind, but where is the baseball connection? Is that a stitched ball on the right? Is he/she wearing a baseball cap? If you didn't say it was baseball, it would have gone right past me. Is this the old type card scam...oldest trick in the book.

on the back of it that I think is an N228--right Leon? You'd be welcome to make the same post at the Non-Sports forum too.......

Was a little taken aback by the title of the thread but feeling a little more comfortable with it now........

Very cool Leon, I have owned a couple of the small round N228-3 Kinney Bros. Cigarettes Novelties cards but didnt even know these large cards existed.

Here is the small round N228-3 card.

Im going to have to look for a big one now.

IMO, it looks more like the girl is pictured inside a baseball - there are lines on the ball that are at least similar to stitching you would see on a baseball.

Leon, that's a very cool card. How far along are you in completing your pre-1950 ACC baseball type set? Any known percentage? Seems like a very tough, but fun long haul

leon...congratulations...nice card...but I agree w/Barry...tough to see the baseball connection. Is it part of a set with other baseball cards? Are any of them more blatant?

I'm living vicariously through your type set Leon!

That's a pretty cool card. Nice images.
But I have a question. Why is it considered a baseball card, if there are no baseball images/references on it?

Congrats on your find.

The little diecut Kinney Novelties (N228-3) are actually fairly common, but there are either 25, 50, or 75 different (3 series) so finding the baseball one is a bit tougher. I see about 4-6 of the baseball ones a year on eBay.

BTW Leon, the type 1 Kinney cards (all round) are thicker and have 25 designs. And the type 2 are round with colored borders (there is a complete set of the N228-2 round cards on eBay right now).

The baseball one (above) is a type 3 like these below.

All these above N228-3 diecuts are on eBay right now.

Like I said I assumed it was a baseball cap. But now that I look at the circle it certainly looks (sort of) like a baseball...I learn something new everyday....

btw, I think I am less than a handful away from completion...then one pops up like this
