Well I figure Hal is at the game. If he hadn't lost his voice before UF stopped OSU at the 30 on 4th down, then I'm sure it was gone with that fumble recovery at the 10 that was pushed down to the 5. And he lost sanity when that great lefty, Tebow, fired that laser rocket pass in for a TD, what mobility, what an arm!!! Hal, hope you're having a large SEC / Gator time! Frank.

And I'm lovin' it too, living vicariously through the Gators as a fan of the only team that has beaten them. Go Gators. War Eagle.

War Eagle!

What do you call the team that was the only team to beat the National Champions? And the likely #3 team too.

Not much Smith (or any other quarterback) can do when you get 2-3 seconds to make a play. tOSU's offensive line has been well, offensive.

It aint OS's O line. It's good ol' SEC D! Shades of Alabama/Miami, 1992. Another case of a media anointing of a non-SEC team that doesn't have to play through that weekly meat grinder.

What a boring game. I've been switching over to Jon Stewart and Colbert. Such a disappointment after the 50-day (ridiculous) layoff/buildup. I'm not a fan of either team, but I was hoping to see a good game at least. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Well, I have to ask, what do you call a team that is the Alabama state champion having beaten both Bama and Auburn this year?
GO HOGS! WOOOOOO, PIG, SOOOIE.
10-4 and will have lost only to the #1 (Florida), #2 (USC), #3 (LSU)and #4 (Wisconsin) teams in the nation. I guess that makes us #5

I'm a UK fan, but I will always pull for the SEC. Clemson carried themselves the same way OSU did ,and the same result. SEC VICTORIOUS !!!

I like football (pro and college). What really seems stupid is having the #1 ranked team that hasn't played since mid November play a #2 ranked team that hasn't played in nearly a month and expect these teams to exhibit the same intensity that they had when they were playing regularly (weekly for over three months). Seems really stupid to me. Probably a little OT and not baseball at all but that's what I think about this BC series crap.

Tim, great win over Clemson. You made us proud, but you guys don't get any big ideas about becoming a football school. It's tough enough around here already.

glad KY wanted to move next year's game to the 4th game since we'll have a new coach after the last couple days. We'll be back though........finish up in top 5, likely around 3-4 or so. Start in top 10 next year......

Scary if we'd beat Rutgers, we'd have played OSU tonite..........

Oh, Bob, nice try, but Auburn lost only 2, and beat #1 and #2 or #3 (wherever they put LSU).

Tom, I'm afraid Louisville just won't be the same unless they get another Auburn assistant coach.

I thought the biggest difference between SEC and Big 10 is the pure speed of the players on SEC teams. I don't think Ohio State knew what hit them. Same thing happened to Michigan...USC was a lot faster off the ball. Big 10 has a rep as more of a power and brawn brand of football.

Congratulations to Florida but if USC hadn't tripped up against UCLA, the Gators would never have gotten a chance. The SEC is brutal and the best conference in the land, period. That's why we need a playoff.

I thought it was great when the Florida DE said "we played 4 teams in the SEC better than Ohio State." LOL, sure to make Big Ten fans hair bristle....

and I hear it every day between UK and UL rivalry but I think it also plays into the fact that in college football anything can happen on any given day. Would the same result be had if they played 4 more times? No. At least I don't think so. It'd probably be 3-2 or 2-3 or something like that. There were many 'upsets' this year that were just that--a single day's great performance. But that's why they play on the field, not on paper......

The SEC has speed, power, and strength. From top to bottom the best conference in the land. I'm glad Florida got the shot it deserved. The game I really wanted to see was LSU vs. USC in the Rose.

Bob,
SEC is the best? How about the Big 10? OSU 12-1, Michigan 11-2, Wisconsin 12-1.

Hi JimB,
I think the Gators said it best, "OSU is the 4th best team we played this year." I'll take a wild guess at the other 3, LSU, Auburn, and Arkansas(for Tbob)... Be well Brian

The thing that is so tough about the SEC is that you have the lower tier teams like Kentucky, South Carolina and Georgia who all won bowl games as underdogs and in convincing fashion. Florida blocked a field goal on the last play of the game to beat SC, needed an insane attempt to field a punt at the goal line by Arkansas and recovered in the end zone for a touchdown to beat the Hogs, lost to Auburn and had their hands full with Georgia. Michigan's big win was against Notre Dame and we saw what a joke ND is against LSU, USC, etc. Wisconsin's one big win was a 3 point bowl victory over the Hogs that was silver-plated. In the SEC you don't get to coast against the likes of Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Northwestern, Michigan State each week.
In the words of Joe Kines the defensive coordinator for Bama, "what coaches coming in to the SEC don't understand that is that they want to kill you and drink your blood."
Even a road game against Ole Miss is a hard place to win. There's nothing like the SEC, the fans make it death valley every week...

Hats off to Florida and the SEC.

But, wouldn't it be nice to have a playoff system where the top 8 teams play at the end of the year?

I would love to see USC, LSU, Florida and Boise state play in a Final Four!
