Default E93 color question

Posted By: scott brockelman

i have a question for E93 collectors, i recently picked up 2 cards of gibson from this set, one is a vivid yellow, the other a deep orange. while i realize neither are rare color versions, just different ink mixtures, my question is which is the norm, yellow or orange?

feel free to email with your holdings or post them here.

scott

Default E93 color question

I don't have a lot of experience with the set, but there are other cards with an orange background, like MAtty, and I've never seen a yellow, so I would assume orange was the intended color.

I saw weird stuff in that place last night. Weird, strange, sick, twisted, eerie, godless, evil stuff. And I want in.

Mine is in the safety deposit box, but I am almost positive it is yellow. I will double check on Monday.

Default E93 color question

all the e93 gibson i've seen (and owned) have yellow back. would be interested in seeing an orange back scan. i'm assuming the shade of orange is similar to those of Matty's like Jay said or the Cobb in the same set.

here is a photo of the 2 cards, looks like from the brief pop report posted here that there is a fairly even number of each color variation.

Default E93 color question

Posted By: Colt McClelland

Scott,

I think that is my E93 Gibson PSA 5 that you just bought (consigned to Pete). I actually had three of them side by side before I got rid of that one. One was the "orange" one you have, one was a pale yellow, and one was kind of in between. My thought at the time was that some Gibsons must just have the bolder "orange" color because of a fresh ink run or something like that. Maybe not though - I guess it could be a true color variation (i.e. similar to the Keeler red vs. pink in the E90-1 set).
