Default Virtual Set: T213-3 Factory 8 Overprints, a collective effort

Sean thought that the group could "fill up a thread" with T213-3 Overprints -- let's see how close we can get to a virtual, collective set!

Post your T213-3 Factory 8 Overprints, and I will update the checklist below as we check them off.

I'll start with the WaJo.

Cheers,
Steve

I will love seeing this complete, but alas, I have nothing to add.

I just love threads like this, even though this thread makes me regret that in 25-30 years of collecting vintage type cards, I never picked up one of these T213-3 overprints. Sadly, it just never became a high enough priority.

Hey Pete, it's funny that Donlin doesn't have a team listed in the caption. Is he the only one without one?

I know that he had been retired for six or seven years. On his 1914 Type-2 card they wrote ".300 hitter for 7 years" instead of listing a team. Maybe in 1919 they decided that leaving it blank was better. Perhaps the fact that they included him at all so long after he retired is a testament to what a popular player he was back then.

I found this thread earlier and wanted to post an update. Rob was gracious enough to let me acquire the Hal Chase throwing from him over the weekend. Happy to add it to my Chase collection and happy to be a part of this exclusive owners club.

From what I've learned, only 1 or 2 of each card exists

I believe roughly half the type 3 set have no known examples...many of those remaining have only 1 known example.

The handful of those left have up to 3 or 4 known examples.

So, quite rare.

Rob
