Get ready for the new baseball cards next year. Now they'll feature a 'game used' piece of those stupid protective goggles worn during the post-game locker room celebration.

Any day where the Cards / Giants / Yankees / Boston aren't in the series is a good day by me. Go Cubbies

The goggles add the touch of spontaneity to the celebration that has been missing.

Who could imagine a golfer jumping into a water hazard to celebrate victory without swim fins and scuba gear?

I must have missed the lawsuit regarding pink eye resulting from a locker room champagne bath.

After tonight's game, the list of the greatest baseball players of all time now goes:
1. Daniel Murphy
2. Babe Ruth
3. Willie Mays

That advance to third by Murphy when the Dodgers were coming out of the shift was the play that wins them the series!!!

Great game by the Mets, big Dodger fan. Mets beat two of the best pitchers in the game. Hats off to all the Mets Fan, your team earned it.

While I have lived and died for the Yankees my whole life (and thats a loooong time), I am from New York and I will root for ANY New York team in any sport to win a championship, so Lets Go Mets!!!!!!!!!! Its not a championship unless a New York team wins it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A shame the Cubbies have their shot this year, but they are not gonna get by the Mets.

In fact, since Yankee Stadium didnt do this, I have a brick on the sidewalk outside of the entrance to CitiField, and it says: THE PROUDEST THING I CAN SAY IS THAT I AM A NEW YORKER FOREVER and it has my name on it. Its an 8"x8" brick, and i was thinking that the last two nites jubulent fans were celebrating on my brick when leaving the stadium!!!!!

Love the Mets pitching! I wish we had that rotation here in KC. We are good for 5 innings and 3 runs, perhaps a couple of walks thrown in, and hoping the game has not gotten away. Mets / Royals Series would be a fun contrast between the rotations. Let's go Blue and Let's go Mets!!!!

I was never really a fan of indoor stadiums, but that has changed. Toronto looks like an amazing place for a game. That place gets LOUD!

Yankees fan here, but went to game 2 last night with my buddy who is a Mets fan. First time I've ever been to a playoff game and the emotion in the stadium was amazing. It wasn't like a Yankees/Sox game where there was hatred in the air. Instead, it was just pure excitement and high hopes and cheering. Pretty neat experience.

I'd have to agree with the sentiment about the atmosphere here! I'm a Red Sox fan, and as such cannot hope the Mets do well (I STILL take 1986, and Gary Carter's afro, personally) but it's great to see 4 'new' clubs in the Championship series!

Go ANYONE but the Mets!!

The Amazin' Memorabilia store in Citi Field has them for sale! Didn't check prices or anything like that because I have no interest in them, but yes, they can be yours, if the price is right.

There is a fellow on another baseball message board who is a VERY passionate Yankee fan - sometimes too passionate for his own good. He also bought a brick on the Citi Field Fan Walk, and found a way to creatively salute the Yankees. His brick says something to the effect of "Game 5, 2000 World Series - I was there" followed by his name. Game 5 of the 2000 World Series was played at Shea Stadium - and it was that game where the Yankees won the series.

All of the Mets love in NYC feels so phony lately. I'm sure it's just as bad in Chicago, but man. I maybe see 10 people walking around in Mets gear the other 300 days of the year.

It's very true in Wrigley. I'll say and just a guess, but a good guess, and say close to half the stadium is filled with people who were at zero regular season games.

True story. My brother who is a "Cubs Fan" hasn't watched a single game this season and hasn't followed baseball at all for about 6-8 years.

Cubs make the playoffs and beat St. Louis and all of a sudden he pops out of nowhere.

Just like a lot of Red Sox fans. The ones I know weren't watching any games this year...............

As a Pirates fan, I lost a lot of respect for Joe Maddon when he joked about Jung Ho Kang having "plantar fasciitis" on the play that could end his career. Next time a Cubs player goes down, I hope Clint Hurdle says "I heard it was plantar fasciitis" and let's see how that goes over.

So glad to see all the hope come crashing down like a lead brick. Not because of you Cubs fans. I feel empathy in that respect. But because of Joe Maddon. F%&$ that d-bag.

I do feel sorry for the Cubs and their fans, but it got somewhat unsettling how quickly the hope turned to arrogance, as if they had already won the whole darn thing. They forget they had to go out and play....seemed they started to just read their won headlines (even the ones from 1985).

They ticked off the baseball Gods when they put Schwarber's homerun ball under glass at Wrigley.

It was amazing how after winning a Divisional Series....let me repeat....a DIVISIONAL SERIES how their fans and media had already anointed them.
