I finally got the other half of a 85 t206/t205 find from 2 years ago. I had sort of giving up hope that this gentleman would sell the rest of them to me. He had not responded to any emails or voicemeils I had left him. Of the 44 t206s, all were piedmonts with an inordinate amount of 350-460s factory 25s (about half) These were cards from an attic in Richmond, Va.

The best of the lot

Hey there, Dylan,

Can't resist commenting on the Feller autograph. An old collector who collected half a century ago once told me that by the 1970s it had become rare to have any old Feller card that wasn't autographed. He said Feller would show up everywehere, signing everything. Everything in sight. He'd sign away... it became a joke among them that if Feller arrived at a show you had to grab up your Feller stuff and hide it to keep him from signing it.

It took me a few years, but I finally found a reasonably priced one -- and it is much better than even this scan shows. I'll be submitting it to SGC for a crossover.

Paul, that Plank is fantastic. It almost makes we want to own one. Great Card. They truly do not make 'em like that anymore.

These days, seems like if you want to bid on something rare on ebay, you first have to email the seller and plead with them not to make an offline deal...

Delete. Don't want to turn this into an "ebay early ending auction bashing" thread.

I bet they could have refused it if they could have known what the auctions would have brought if they had been allowed to run to completion, but that's their mistake...

Took a chance on a zero feedback seller and got some nice cards really cheap. Wish I would have pulled the trigger on the Cobb.

Also picked up a photo album filled with approximately 70 photos of the 1939 Lubbock Hubbers and a few other teams of the West Texas New Mexico League (WTNM). It's easy to see why there were huge offensive numbers put up in this league when you look at the grassless fields -and the dirt looks about as hard as concrete.

Here's a sampling of some of the photos

Dan, I was watching those esco's as well. Your scans are far more convincing, nice buy.

She didn't have the best pictures of them that's for sure, but this sure didn't smell of a scam either so I took a chance...I was just too gunshy on that Cobb though. Whoever got that one got a bargain.

Blanket is much better than scan - there really aren't the "stains" on it that appear in the scan...
