help with this team picture

Is there any way to narrow down the year for this and what value would it have?

I collect those kinds of photos (via postcards) a little bit. I would say it dates to the 1910s-1915s. If there is nothing that is known and no extraordinary information known about it, you are looking at minimal value. I would guess $10-$25. ......

To help you with your research, I believe that you should concentrate on finding out who that oldest "baseball man" is in the photograph!

That would be the teams assistant manager (3rd from top right).

If this photo was taken c. 1910-1915, you can pinpoint what year he played and try to match up facial and stature anomalies. I will try to help by doing some research also.

What does the back of the photo look like?

What city or area was this photo discovered in?

Looks like a family outing or family reunion. a lot of the guys have some of the same facial features.

The bat the kid is holding doesn't look like a whole bat at the far end. Maybe they made the bat.

Early 1900s, maybe earlier 1910. Value depends on size, with the bigger the more valuable. Normal cabinet size I'd say $50. Perhaps it'd sell for $80 on a good day. Just a guess. I'm not an appraiser or dealer so take my pricing with a grain of salt. Though cabinet style cards sell for more than real photo postcards. Family reunion or town picnic game sounds reasonable. There certainly appear to be some relations in the photo. You'll see old photos with teams in street, work, school or farm clothes.

The New York Gallery photo is a cabinet card, so it's a little bigger than a standard cabinet card. It's about average size.

well, i got the entire lot for $7.51 including shipping.. not the score of the century, but it is my first picture of this type and i plan on keeping it.

In the group of photos there are three photos in the bottom center of the same man. He seems to be the gentleman in the back row center of the baseball "team" photo. Is there any information on the backs of one of these photos that may narrow the scope?

I am new to this forum, but wanted to leave my opinion.

I would say focus on the glove in the center of the picture, for dating purposes. The bat is too rough to tell anything, but the glove could get you in a dated range. Once the range is found, you could start narrowing it down and researching other photographs.

i got the pictures in yesterday and the picture of the boy by the chairs is dated 1894 and it is of Fred E. Hill. That name is the same name on the back of the pictures for the guy stated above.. one of the pictures says it is from Pottsville, PA.

There was a team called the Pottsville Colts in 1894. I wonder if any of those young lads in that photo played for the colts as they became of age?

I do see a roster with bio's for the 1894 Colts.

i looked at the roster and i wonder what Oscar Hill looked like.. these pictures all seem to be from the Hill family. The picture of Fred standing next to the chair makes him look about 7 or so.. does that look right to any of you? if that is in the right ballpark then he would have been born around 1886 or so,

I saw Oscar Hill on the roster and thought the same but see that he was born in 1871.

Yep, guy in back center with vest appears to be the same guy in the front 3 photos. Everything points to the dates Leon and David suggested. I also agree that it's probably a family outing, and unless you find a future superstar in that photo, it's $10-25 if you are very lucky.
