Default butter cream ruth

Does anyone know why this card is so rare? Butter creams are pretty tough in general...but none that I know of is as tough as Ruth. I would think if Ruth was issued in similar #'s as the rest of the set more would exist as more people would be likely to keep the babe?

Was this the "chase card?" Does anyone know if it is known with 2 different back date variations?

Interesting card it is...didn't Rob Lifson or someone "accidentally" throw one away once?

That's true but I still can't imagine knowing I trashed a one of two card.
