Default T206 Ty Cobb Drum Back on eBay

gentlemen-
submitted for your collective opinions:

this card is currently being auctioned on ebay by just collect with a starting bid of $12.5 k...
upon researching, look what i discovered in my personal archives...
i find it somewhat amusing that the top edge of the most recent incarnation has undergone a century of wear in a few scant years!
comments...?

Somebody worked the top of that card trying to get it into a numbered holder.

OK, paper residue makes more sense.. I was wondering if someone actually glued a little patch on!?!?

Good to see PSA got the grade right on this one. I feel the starting bid is a little high. Should have been started around $8000 but even 12.5K is a bargain compared to the PSA 2 (MK) of this card that sold for $28,048.

Are you sure? This is how the original Hunt auction description reads:

"Drum advertising back has some light age toning and a small abrasion at the right side."

Default Profit

Not a bad 'investment'. Pay $4888, then sell it for $12,500. Someone is a clever dude. Maybe a little too clever, for my taste.
