Default O/T: Wrigley Field Seating

I am visiting Chicago in mid June and want to attend one of the Cubs/ White Sox games. I'm looking at cheaper seating and have my eye on some tickets on sections 512 and 530. Can anyone who has been to Wrigley tell me if these seats will be okay? Is there a chance the view will be obstructed?

Thanks,
Ben

Nose bleed seats. There are pillars holding up the roof that may obstruct but the seats are cheap and if you aren't there for a tan you should be ok.

Well I worked in the front office for the Cubs for a number of years and I can assure you those are not nosebleed seats when compared to other stadiums. They are in the upper reaches of the upper deck but I think they are still closer to the field than some of the new ballparks.

Section 512 will give you a great view of the field but you should also see the lake over the right field wall as well. Both seats are decent especially if you are sitting in the 1st 5 rows or so of that section. even if you are not the seating will be just fine and you will have an enjoyable time. Just make sure your seats are not "obstructed view" as these seats are usually right behind a pillar!

"I can assure you those are not nosebleed seats"

No intent here to disparage Wrigley Field. I love the place. I always refer to the uppermost sections as "nosebleed" irrespective of the venue.

Now, if you want nosebleed, Sox Park (or whatever they call it nowadays) when first built, handed out parachutes to the patrons in the uppermost sections. Place was downright scary.

Default O/T: Wrigley Field Seating

I'm going to visit Chicago this summer too. I just bought tickets
for the July 26th game vs the Reds. I'm sitting in section 222.
I also bought tickets for the stadium tour. (I also looked in going to
a White Sox game, but they're out of town that week.)

By the way, are there any locals on the board who can throw out
a few suggestions for local eateries, pubs, and oh yeah card shops
in the general area.

Thanks,

ErikV

The temp can change quickly at Wrigley depending on how the wind is
blowing.

Just because it is 80 degrees in the morning, it might be 65 and windy at game time, and if you are in the shade.......

you'll freeze.

Take a jacket, in other words.

I was in a bad row for the elements that day...section 503, last row, right on the edge of the stadium for the icy 2004 home opener. Windy, freezing and downright unbearable. I went back for a later year's August game and it was 100 degrees in the sun along the first base line. Cold beer helped keep my temps down! chris

As one of the other posters mentioned...Take a jacket regardless of the time of year. The weather can change on a dime.

In terms of places to eat, I can only tell you where the front office employees went. There might be other good places but a few of my favorites are:

Chicago Grinder Company
www.chicagopizzaandovengrinder.com
Check out their pizza pot pie!! And they are across the street from the St. Valentines day massacre sight! Not very far from the ball park on Clark St.

Leona's
http://www.leonas.com/

Good neighborhood place to eat and a few blocks south of the ballpark on Sheffield. Not far from the Briar Street Theater where you can catch the Blue Man Group show after the game. (if its a day game)

By the way Nice seats. You will be in the sun part of the day but as the day goes on, be prepared for shade by bringing a jacket!! Hows that for public service!!

Another great place to eat is the Goose Island Brew Pub...just a few blocks away and great beer, if you're into that kind of thing.
