Default Time for Olympic Cards; Usain Bolt Rookie Card?

Sure would like to have a Usain Bolt rookie card. How 'bout Michael Phelps.

I think these would be popular. I wonder if someone has bought the rights to these; or if it's even possible.

You could probably have a whole deck of cards (28), just for Michael Phelps medals.

Both have several cards. Other than the si for kids rc, most of bolts cards are overseas panini issues. As for Phelps, He has plenty of cards for him already including autos.

Wow. I didn't even know that. Does PSA encapsulate and grade these cards? I'd imagine without PSA graded, they aren't worth much.

I just went on E-bay and looked. Nothing PSA graded, but a boatload of cheap cards. Must not be popular. I clearly had no idea these existed. Maybe the "buyers-club" needs to move into Olympic cards.

Psa and Beckett grades them, I don't know if anyone ever submitted one to SGC.

Here is a Bolt rookie, the Paninis are better looking but I would consider this a RC. Hard grades as they are perforated. Most of Phleps cards are Topps except the earlier Leaf and SI for Kids card and they are all modern and easily found in high grades.

Probably couldn't pick a worse time to buy them. If you wait 6 months to a year I bet you could score a pretty good deal.

Yeah, Topps has put out Olympic sets the last couple of Olympic years, but frequently puts athletes in their modern Allen & Ginter products.

Need that Thorpe "Race Starting" card, Scott, if you decide to sell it.

Here are a few of my Thorpe Olympic cards.

Let me know if any of these images don't show up as Google Photos has been acting up recently.

Topps always puts out a set of US athletes. I don't know if they cover different countries though.
