Default New Member and Penny Sleeve Question?

Hi - new member here.....been around the hobby a long time and decided to join.....lots of great info out here for sure....

Had a penny sleeve question - years ago - back in the late 80's / early 90s, there was a penny sleeve manufacturer who made great sleeves with a very tiny lip....the back side of the sleeve was maybe 1/16th of an inch longer than the front and it made inserting cards into the sleeve a breeze....with no ability to damage the corners....Does anyone know where you can find similar sleeves today?

Thanks in advance! Jim

Hi, Welcome!
I'm not sure if what you are referring to exist still, but there is a company who makes Pre-cut corner sleeves. I use them for nice cards I don't want to risk dinging.

CSG, the grading company, makes exactly what you're describing. Scroll down to card sleeves and you'll find them...

Thanks guys! Both links sent are not exactly what I used to buy ages ago….I am not a fan of the corner cut sleeves and the CSG sleeves have huge back tabs….I will try to take a photo of what I am talking about and will post - that’s probably best…

Also - for reference and history and maybe I have run into some of you before, I am Bronxbats on eBay and I used to be a contributing expert to Game Used Universe back in the day when Chris Cavalier owned and ran the site….

In the late 80s I sold off my entire - and I mean my entire, extensive childhood card collection to get into game used material….glad I did….I love my game used collection….I kept collecting autographed baseball cards though and have been collecting those for over 50 years….

I miss raw - ungraded - minty 60s and 70s cards and miss all my sets from that era….

I’ve jumped back in and hope to interact with many of you going forward….

I miss collecting baseball cards….

Yeah the back tab on the CSG ones is really big, you're right. Maybe can trim them down to what you need/like?

Posting Images to Net54 Boards:

Scanned image will need to be converted to .jpg – I use an old Google product called Picassa for that (there are others also)

I use a Free Flickr (flickr.com) account for creating online albums and then uploading scanned .jpg images to one of those "albums".

Once you have uploaded an image to Flickr you will need to :
• Select the image in your Flickr Album.
• Scroll Down to “Viewing Privacy” options and change from PRIVATE to PUBLIC.
• Then scroll back up and click on “Share Photo” which will give you several options for sharing.
• I typically use the “EMBED” option and copy that link over to my Net 54 post and Submit.
• Your Image(s) will now appear in your post.
• There are several other ways (including upload to Net54) but this has always worked for me.

and cuz every post needs a card :
