Default t213 toughies

are there any t213's that are tougher than others? i like the set because it's so similar to the t206 but wont have to win the lottery to finish. this will be my next project for the next 10 years buying a few every month until its finished.

I presume you're referring to T213 Type II's? I think you may find some of the team variations to be a challenge...other than that I do not believe there to be rarities within this set.

I think this is a great alternative to the more common...T206 set!

I concur, it will be a test just to put some teams sets together. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

So few collectors go after the 3 T213 sets that it is difficult to come up with a good handle on which cards are the toughest. I think that's a good thing as you don't se too many T213 commons with scarcity premiums.

this set has a couple different levels of toughness. You will be able to get 3/4 done with out trouble. Then the difficulty begins for the next 20 or 30 cards then you get to the near impossible

I am sure Andy will chime in, he knows more about this set than anyone else I know.

Extremely difficult to complete maybe impossible

Default T213...

The T213 Type 2 set is an excellent set to go after the way you are wanting to tackle it. (1-2 a month for 10 years). It should present a little challenge and some fun variations of players on different teams, minor leaguers, etc. You should be able to get ur done ahead of your target time frame.

The Type 1 & 3 sets have some very rare cards in them that might present some real obstacles. (Especially the type 1 set)

Here are my Gabby's Type 1, 2, and 3 :

I completed T213-2 minus 5 team variations. There are distinct and huge differences in availability of the cards. The checklist shows 188, but it's really only 185. Of those, about 120-130 are relatively easy, the balance are more difficult with about 30 being extremely difficult. The more difficult cards are team caption variations updating the 1915 and 1916 team updates. In general, minor leagues are more difficult, but not the most difficult. Federal Leaguers are half and half - some are very, very easy, while others are in the "buy them when you find them in any condition" category.

Here are all six Bender versions - 1914 Philadelphia Amer, 1915 Baltimore Fed, 1916 Philadelphia Nat. Per relative scarcity, check your T213 Benders, I'm willing to bet they're probably Philadelphia Athletics -- far more common than either the Baltimore or Phillie updates.

i wonder why there is no joe jackson or buck weaver in this set? is it because of they have no t206 cards and the t213's where printed from the t206 printing plates?

bingo-we have a winner.

I am pretty sure there were at least two printings of the t213-2s. I have several Baltimore duplicates. The caption on several of them is slightly alligned to the right.

Yes, it is because they weren't in the T206 set.

Here is the Buck Herzog Type 2 "B" and "No B" variations.

I realize this has a "the trader speaks" aspect as it is my 2nd post in 3 years and my next post may be 3 years from now , but I am working on T213-1 and need 9 cards to complete. I will say I have not seen Killian LaPorte Myers fielding or Rhoades

Default T213-2

Mike, nice card, thanks for posting that. Now, at least, I know what I am looking for.

Regarding esd10's original question about relative scarcity of T213-2. I rarely see any of the 4 Frank Chance variations for sale. I've heard that Mike Donlin 'NY's more difficult than 'stats', but I see both offered about as often.
