Default Authenticity/DNA.... what does that mean?

Hi folks~
New to the site and would like some insight on the DNA meaning in authenticating signatures. How does the whole DNA thing work for say a baseball card that has been signed through the mail? How is DNA figured into that? Very curious and looking for info that people can explain to me. Thanks.....

DNA is just PSA's name for their autograph authentication service. For a fee you can send a piece of autographed memorabilia to PSA and they will render an opinion as to the signature's authenticity. If their opinion is that it is authentic the item is considered PSA/DNA certified. Larger and expensive items will likely come with a LOA from PSA, photographs usually come with a applied sticker, and cuts-index cards-and trading cards are usually encapsulated in their slab.

The DNA is exactly that, DNA! When PSA certifies an item they put a small dab of chemically made "DNA" on the item. I believe it fluoresces under a certain light they have. That way they can actually check and see if the item actually has the DNA mark on it so there is no switcheroo.
