Default Has anyone ever seen a postcard like this one before?

Posted By: neil b. downey

Hi guys, I won a Thomas Downey postcard yesterday that I had never seen before. Has anyone ever seen one like this? Is it part of a set or perhaps a team issued postcard? Any info would be great. Also, I'd like to see if anyone has a trick for removing the tab from the corner. Thanks for your help, Neil

Hi,
I saw that was in a huge lot of reds postcards? Most of those are Jim Rowe postcards. i used to get them in the 80's. However that particular one doesnot resemble the others. I am guessing though that it came from that collection though.

Is Jim Rowe the owner of the postcards or the printer of the postcards?

get more help if you post this on the main forum....unless you are selling it...then you could put it there, find out what it is, and then place it over here to sell. good luck either way

Im pretty sure he was the printer. He sold them for $1 each back in the 80's and I bought them to get signed. That one might look different because its from an older era than what I was buying. That seller certainly had ones just like what I used to buy though.

I realize that this may not be the perfect forum but I did buy the postcard. Perhaps the buy/sell/trade forum is not too far off track. Just hoping to gather info. This is not intended to offend anyone. Neil

Hi Sean, At the price that I paid for it ($12.05), it is still worth it to me to get it for my Downey collection. He wanted $50 for it off line but I was smart to hold out and just bid on the postcard. Neil

well thats all that matters than Post it on the vbc homepage with the title of "needs help, is this a jim rowe postcard?" Surely there is someone on there that would know even more than me on this. It was intriging that the seller had actualy 1909 reds postcards and then what I think are reissue postcards so who knows? I may be way off.
Good luck!
sean
