Was this Duffy's final produced card?

In way -- yes. Duffy is from the last (i.e. final) print group (Group 4 / 460 only). His only Piedmont is the 350/460, Factory 25 (no Fact. 42).

One of my favorite poses in the set, and a great player who is overlooked and marginalized by sabrmetrics, I think. Very cool card

What's the story with Duffy being in the set with Chicago Amer.? He last played in the majors for the Phillies in 1906, and spent 1907 and 1908 with Providence of the Eastern Association as player manager (and still hit .330). The 460 series was issued in 1911. Was Duffy trying to make a comeback and failed?

EDIT: Ah, he was the manager of the White Sox. I always had his card checklisted as a player card, not as a manager. Interesting

Actually his left hand “never” touches the bat. He is a pure right-handed hitter.

I have always liked this card because of the sweater depicted, and now it is cool to see that sweater in action in the photo that was shared (undoubtedly it was a chilly spring day).

Just noticed something neat about the card...the blue band on the sweater's wrist lines up perfectly with the blue 'button' band running from the neck of the sweater to the waist. My guess is the artist rearranged his depiction of the original photo it was based upon just to make things nice and aesthetically pleasing.

Duffy was an elder statesman at this point, so why is he not on series 150 and 350 cards (he may be on some 350/1910 cards, OM, EPDG?)?

Ah, just saw post #14. Is it because he was out of league in 1909-10 and manager in 1911?
