Default eBay/PayPal question

Has anyone tried purchasing a card over $10,000 on eBay with PayPal? As far as I know PayPal still has a $10k per transaction limit and I think to qualify for the eBay buyer protection you have to pay in a single payment. I tried customer service and didn't get anywhere so I was hoping maybe someone on here has tried it?

According to the PayPal website "The maximum amount allowed for a single transaction is $10,000 USD by a PayPal member". If that is the case, I'm not sure how someone can list an item over $10,000 on eBay and require payment by PayPal if it isn't possible to pay for it that way.

Maybe they could but would have to split it up....

you'll have to split up the amount. I bought a car from ebay auto before, and the full $20,000 was covered.

I have a paypal/ebay question as well.

I have only been selling for a few months, and seem to have this reoccuring problem.

If an international bidder, buys a Buy It Now auction, and then immediately instapays, how can you add a few bucks to the final shipping costs??

I don't really want to shut down on the international bidders, they are very interested in what I usually sell. (vinyl records)

Thanks
Isaac

It depends on how you list. There should be an option to give a flat rate shipping price to an International Buyer.

I don't use Ebay to list. I use a 3rd party lister. It gives me one option to list a price for US purchases, Canada Purchases, and Other International Purchases.

Any other breakdown of those options I want to offer and my group shipping discounts, I do it in my end of auction invoice.

If you list directly through Ebay, there may be more options.

Also, depending on how time consuming it may be, you can also revise your auction descriptions to retroactively place International Shipping Prices and Options within the Ebay field.

Bergin-
Thank you for answering. I will have to look more closely at the shipping options. I have not had it set up for international shipping to be invoiced automatically. It has just been set up for domestic rates.

I just asked the recent buyer of an item of mine to please paypal me a couple of bucks to cover the international shipping, he did so in thirty minutes. I just don't want to have to ask other buyers to do the same, as I do not think many would be as understanding.

Thanks again for the help
