Is there a reference guide for the Minor Leagues available?

Is there a reference guide available that is similar to "The Official Encyclopedia of Baseball" for the Minor League players?

For those of us that collect Minor League issues such as: PCL issues, T209s, T210s, T211s, and T213s, identitfication of players is often quite difficult, and, in some cases, next to impossible.

Any help is appreciated.

The best source I know of is the annual Spalding Guides. They have pretty good sections on the minor leagues along with many team photos. Of course, the difficulty is obtaining many different guides to cover the years. There are many reprints available however.

The Encyclopedia of Minor League Baseball. This is a very tough book to find. There is only one second edition available on Amazon and the seller wants $688 for it. I found a first edition on Abebooks.com at the following link.

I big "DITTO" for Rob M's advice regarding the old
Spalding Guides. I have a few from 1904 to 1914 and
the detail in them regarding all the Minor Leagues
of that era is amazing. I refer to them very often
to get more insight to players that I see on the
T-type Minor lge., OBAK, etc. BB cards.
